Hello Springfield’s Best!!!
I am honored to take the helm as your new Executive Director! My name is Tami North, and I’m a widowed Mom of two grown sons, a daughter in love, and 3 of the cutest grandkids in all of Southwest Missouri! In my free time, you’d probably find me with the family, including my mom, and/or my 2 dogs! I also spend a lot of time and resources on my quaint little fixer upper – a nearly century old home nestled in Rogersville. Home and family are my 2 greatest joys!
My next joy has been serving the business community of Southwest Missouri as Executive Director of the Rogersville Area Chamber of Commerce until late 2019. During my first 30 months of leadership, the membership doubled by laser focusing on what was beneficial to members and what was not. Having come to Chamber life as a former business owner, I feel I have a good perspective of obtaining, retaining, and growing business in the 417. Following my role in Rogersville, and until 14 months ago, I served as the Development Specialist for the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the MDA. I was certain this would be my life’s work – it is a cause near and dear to my family’s heart, having lost my husband to ALS in 2014. As it turns out, it was a brief stint, as COVID caused an unending furlough. Eventually, our office was eliminated here in Springfield.
Not one of us has been unaffected by this pandemic, and we’ve certainly all navigated some choppy waters. I feel it’s been a blessing to “come home” to the work I love – advocating for business in the 417! I look forward to serving you, learning about your business, and marketing to consumers in need of your goods and services!
You can feel confident that the transition will be as smooth as we can make it. I’ve already met Regan and most of your board. Please pardon a delay in your June membership billing…it has not yet been transacted, making your automatic billing at least one week to 10 days off. We hope to get those out today or tomorrow. I apologize for any inconvenience, as we switch over banking, office equipment, and leadership. Please know that you are my first priority and I’m ecstatic to serve you!
