You know what makes the 417 community so great? It’s companies that enrich the lives of our families….our homes….that provide the goods and services that help provide the memories that last a lifetime!
Through the pandemic, a lot of people have thought more about the fact that the storefront down the street is actually the American dream of a friend or neighbor. During the lock-down, we heard stories of how difficult it was to keep doors open, food on the table, kids learning. When lines were drawn on who/what was essential and what wasn’t, we sighed a little longer for the American Business owner, didn’t we? HOW we longed to get back to the restaurant, the local boutique, to SEE our peeps again….if we would, but for a moment, ponder on this again, we could see the essential importance of thinking, shopping and buying local!
Soon we’ll begin embarking on that big holiday retail season. Let’s make it a matter of priority to remember and commit to shopping and buying local! The big box stores will be fine. I don’t know about you, but I would certainly prefer to put my money in the hands of my family business owner…neighbor….friend…than to stuff the bottomless pockets of big faceless corporations.
